The Vietnam-China Business Friendship Exchange opens up golden opportunities for investment and trade cooperation for FDI enterprises, creating momentum for sustainable economic development for the locality.
Promote mutual development
On the evening of October 10, the Chinese Business Association in Vietnam - Representatives of Chinese Enterprises in Hai Phong organized a Friendship Exchange between Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises. This event is not only a golden opportunity to establish and strengthen business relationships but also a foundation to strongly promote bilateral cooperation, opening up new investment and trade potentials.
Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee said: Hai Phong City always identifies cooperation with Chinese localities and enterprises as one of the top priorities in foreign affairs, cooperation and investment promotion.
Hai Phong currently has cooperative and friendly relations with 06 provinces and localities of China, specifically: Tianjin, Nanning, Shenzhen, Foshan, Ningbo and Yunnan province through the cooperation mechanism of the Vietnam-China Economic Corridor of 5 provinces/cities. In recent times, the city has welcomed many large Chinese business delegations and business associations to work and learn about the investment and business environment, thereby contributing to expanding opportunities for trade connection, strengthening the cooperative and solidarity relationship, and development between the people, localities, and enterprises of China and Hai Phong city.
In terms of economic, investment and trade cooperation, the two sides need to continue promoting the role of the business community, associations, unions and enterprises of both sides in creating a solid bridge, promoting investment promotion activities, connecting trade between enterprises of the two countries; encouraging Chinese enterprises to cooperate directly with Hai Phong enterprises in the same industry supply chain and vice versa, aiming to form a complete international supply chain right in the city.
According to Mr. Cuong, Hai Phong City will continue to facilitate, encourage and support businesses of the two countries in the process of investment, production and business; promote innovation and technological improvement, strengthen international brands, build a transparent, stable and effective investment environment, aiming for Hai Phong to become a second home, an attractive, safe and stable investment destination for Chinese businesses and investors.
It is known that Hai Phong City currently has 1,737 FDI projects from 44 countries and territories with a total investment capital of 50.3 billion USD. Of which, there are 769 investment projects from China (including: Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau) with a total capital of 12.77 billion USD, accounting for over 1/4 of the total FDI capital attracted in the city. The presence and increasing investment projects of Chinese enterprises have been making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Hai Phong City.

Mr. LIWEI – Chief Representative of Chinese Enterprises in Hai Phong – Chinese Enterprise Association in Vietnam said: As one of the first Chinese entrepreneurs to set foot in Hai Phong since 1998, I was fortunate to spend the most precious 27 years of my youth here. At the same time, I witnessed with my own eyes the journey of Hai Phong gradually rising from a peaceful port city to a new economic center full of dynamism and opportunity in Northern Vietnam today.
I have witnessed with my own eyes the upgrading of Cat Bi airport, the increasingly powerful development of the deep-water port. In particular, I have witnessed from Dinh Vu Industrial Park to Nam Dinh Vu, modern industrial parks springing up one after another, and also witnessed the changing appearance of Hai Phong city day by day.
He said that these great changes were achieved thanks to the hard work and perseverance of our Vietnamese friends, and also partly marked the contribution of our Chinese enterprises. What makes us especially grateful is that the Hai Phong city government always maintains an open spirit, has practical measures, creates an increasingly favorable investment and business environment, and brings many opportunities for our Chinese enterprises to develop long-term.
In recent times, Chinese enterprises in Hai Phong have actively integrated with the locality, striving to become responsible and trustworthy members in the local socio-economic development process.
It can be said that the growth of Chinese enterprises has been closely linked with the prosperity and development of Hai Phong city.
As a bridge between businesses of the two countries, the Chinese Business Association in Vietnam - Representative of Chinese Enterprises in Hai Phong always persistently implements the motto "serving businesses, promoting cooperation".

In the coming time, the Vietnam - China Business Association and Club of Hai Phong city will focus on a number of key points: Promoting friendly exchanges and business cooperation, enhancing understanding and trust between the people of the two countries.
Promote trade and investment, especially in the fields of seaports, logistics, supporting industries and high technology. Connect Vietnamese enterprises with reputable Chinese partners, expanding opportunities to participate in regional supply chains. Coordinate with relevant agencies to create an open, stable and sustainable investment and business environment.
In particular, in the context that the two governments are implementing the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong high-speed railway, and the city is promoting the 20,000-hectare South Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone (Nam Do Son), including ports, airports, logistics and industrial parks. These will be strategic projects that open up new cooperation opportunities between Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises. We will continue to be a reliable bridge, supporting businesses on both sides to effectively exploit these cooperation opportunities.
