Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of economic development, a significant event took place on the morning of December 10th when the Vietnam-China Business Club solemnly welcomed a delegation of 35 high-ranking leaders from the Hong Kong, Macau, and China regions.
The Overall Investment Landscape
Hai Phong is asserting its position as one of the most dynamic economic centers in Northern Vietnam with impressive figures:
Over 100 international projects have been launched, with the participation of investors from 39 countries and territories. Among them, Chinese enterprises hold the leading position with 422 projects and investments totaling $6.46 billion.
Ambition for Unlimited Growth
The port city is outlining an extremely ambitious development plan:
- The plan includes the development of 20 new industrial zones with a total area of over 7,000 hectares.
- Submitted to the Prime Minister: Project for the Southern Coastal Economic Zone covering 20,000 hectares.
- Building a 3.0 generation ecological economic zone with strategic priorities:
- High-tech industry
- Modern seaport system
- Advanced logistics services
- Smart cities
Vision for International Cooperation
Mr. Bui Thanh Giang, Chairman of the Vietnam-China Business Club, shared: “"We expect this visit to serve as a bridge for Hai Phong and Fangcheng Port to strengthen cooperation in many areas."”
Notably, Mr. Nguyen Hieu Ba – Director of the Lihe Innovation Center in Nanning (part of the Shenzhen Innovation Center) – also expressed his wish: “"We aim to transfer technological innovation experience and create conditions for technology companies in both countries to engage in in-depth exchanges and gain a better understanding of each other."”
Outlook to 2030
According to the plan, the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone will become the main driving force for development in the entire Red River Delta region, contributing to the realization of socio-economic development goals.
