VIETNAM - CHINA BUSINESS CLUB: BRIDGE OF FRIENDSHIP, PROMOTING ECONOMIC COOPERATION

On the evening of October 4, 2024, at Pearl River Hotel, Hai Phong city, the announcement ceremony of the decision to establish the Vietnam - China Business Club of Hai Phong city took place. This event marked an important step forward in promoting the friendly relationship and economic cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises in the port city.

 The event brought together many senior leaders

The ceremony was attended by many senior leaders of the city, including Comrade Dao Khanh Ha - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Hai Phong City. In addition, the event was also attended by representatives of relevant departments, agencies and branches such as the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Union of Friendship Organizations of the city, along with representatives of business associations and related units.

At the ceremony, comrade Dao Khanh Ha presented the Decision to establish the Club, marking the official birth of this organization. At the same time, the representative of the Club also presented the Decision to admit new members, officially recognizing the participation of businesses in the activities of the Club.

Goals and significance of the Vietnam - China Business Club in Hai Phong

The Vietnam – China Business Club of Hai Phong City was established with an initial size of nearly 40 members. This organization was established with many important goals, aiming to strengthen and expand the partnership between businesses of the two countries:

1. Enhanced connectivity: The Club will act as a bridge, strengthening and expanding partnerships with Chinese economic organizations and enterprises investing in Vietnam in general and in Hai Phong city in particular.
2. Investment promotion: Take advantage of and effectively exploit investment promotion programs in China, to attract resources from Chinese enterprises to invest in Hai Phong city.
3. Membership Connection: Create a favorable environment for members to communicate, exchange experiences and cooperate for mutual development.
4. Social responsibility: Promote the implementation of corporate social responsibility, contributing to the sustainable development of the community.
5. Policy advice: The club will act as an advisor to the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of the city in closely coordinating with departments, agencies and localities to promote propaganda work and raise awareness of the Vietnam - China friendship.
6. Promoting economic cooperation: Strengthening economic cooperation between Hai Phong enterprises and Chinese enterprises, contributing to promoting the city's economic development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Hai Phong City, Mr. Le Van Quy emphasized the importance of establishing the Club in the context of increasingly developing Vietnam - China relations:

“Over the years, the Vietnam-China relationship has always been maintained, developed well and achieved many important results. China's investment in Vietnam is increasing. There are currently 405 investment projects from China in the city with a total capital of 6.14 billion USD. To further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Hai Phong city enterprises and Chinese enterprises, the Vietnam-China Friendship Association of the city officially established the Vietnam-China Business Club of Hai Phong city under the Association to gather enterprises and businessmen, contributing to promoting investment and trade cooperation between enterprises of the two countries in Hai Phong.”

Mr. Quy also emphasized the role of the Club in improving the quality and effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy and deepening the cooperative relationship between Hai Phong and Chinese localities.

Commitment and determination of the Club's Board of Directors

Mr. Bui Thanh Giang, Chairman of the Club, expressed his gratitude for the attention of the city leaders, the Vietnam-China Friendship Association and local departments, agencies and branches. He also affirmed the Club's determination to best complete the assigned tasks:

“The club will make every effort to strengthen friendly relations with Chinese enterprises in production and business cooperation, contributing to the city’s socio-economic development. At the same time, we pledge to contribute to strengthening friendly relations and cooperation between the people of Hai Phong city and the people of China in particular, and between the people of Vietnam and the people of China in general.”

In addition, Mr. Pham Quang Viet - Director of Sao Viet Air Duct Manufacturing and Trading Company Limited, was elected as Vice President and Head of the Club's Development Committee. In this position, Mr. Viet will undertake the important task of connecting businesses and promoting cooperation for the common goal of building the Red Flamboyant City to become more and more prosperous.

Expectations and prospects

The establishment of the Vietnam - China Business Club of Hai Phong city opens up many positive prospects for the socio-economic development of the port city:

1. Increased investment: The club will contribute to attracting more investment projects from China to Hai Phong, creating momentum for local economic development.
2. Technology transfer: Through exchange and cooperation activities, the Club will facilitate technology transfer between businesses of the two countries.
